The play, set in Athens, revolves around the marriage of Theseus and Hippolyta. One subplot involves a conflict among four Athenian lovers. Another follows six amateur actors rehearsing the play which they are to perform before the King’s wedding. Both groups find themselves in a forest inhabited by fairies, who manipulate the humans, and are engaged in their own domestic intrigue.

The project Silly Shakespeare for Students offers a lively, distilled version of one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies—A Midsummer Night’s Dream, whose enigma, enchantment, and humour are kept intact.
The entire play is written in rhyming couplets, adding to its playful tone and making the language even more enjoyable. Flying Banana Theatre condensed the piece to just over an hour, making it more accessible without sacrificing its fun and whimsy. Traditionally, all is accompanied by raucous music.
